This course is an introduction to the concepts, techniques and methodologies of Artificial Intelligence. If Computer Sceince is a young discipline, then AI is an equally new sub-discipline. Its roots go back over 50 years, actually predating the digital electronic computer through Alan Turing's work. It is a truly inter-disciplinary field, interacting with many other sciences, including psychology, neuro-science, mathematics and engineering.
