Networked Control Technology and Its Practical Applications

Networked control systems (NCS) have been one of the main research focuses in academia as well as in industrial applications for many decades. NCS has taken the form of a multidisciplinary area. This presentation gives a design processing for a networked control system with the application requirement for high real-time performance and the large amounts of information transmission. To illustrate that design, a practical platform of the networked motion control system based on EtherCAT protocol for ocean wave maker is introduced. In addition, some real application projects using industrial Ethernet are presented.


Lei Wang was born in Liaoning, China. He received a B.S. degree in computer science and technology from Dalian Jiaotong University, Dalian, China in 2007. He received his Ph.D in control theory and engineering from Dalian University of Technology, Dalian, China in 2012. He is currently serving as an associate professor of Henan Polytechnic University and he is a member of the China Computer Federation. Dr. Wang also serves as an active reviewer for four international journals. His research interests focus on networked control, wireless sensor network and embedded system.
