2009 CREST Summer Computer Science Programs
The Computer Science Department at New Mexico State University is recruiting high school students interested in computer science for competitive summer programs.
The department is currently accepting applications for two summer programs: Young Women in Computing and High School Bioinformatics.
The Young Women in Computing Program is seeking high school females interested in robotics, computer animation and web design. The program runs from July 6 - Aug. 7, 2009.
The High School Bioinformatics Program is also accepting high school applicants. In the high school program, students will be introduced to bioinformatics, a field of study that combines computer science with biological research. The high school program runs from July 6 - 17, 2009.
Students who participate in the programs will be provided with free materials, books and lunch, as well as a weekly stipend. Both programs are held on the NMSU campus, where students have the opportunity to learn in a college setting. Through this learning experience, participants will discover new ways to apply computer science and what the NMSU Computer Science Department has to offer.
