CS 574 - Midterm Topics
The Rules
Please remember I impose the following rules on all my exams; yes, I
will enforce these, and I will take off points!
- Bring paper.
- Don't put your name on the exam. Anywhere.
- Start each question on a new sheet of paper. Not the back
side of a previous question.
- Put your SSN on every page you turn in.
- Open book, notes, etc.
- No electronic aids, except language translation tools.
Questions
Some general notes about how I write exams:
- No true/false or multiple choice. Note: I may ask a question
which, on the surface, looks like a true/false or multiple
choice question. If I do, the intent is that you justify your
yes/no or a/b/c/d; your reasoning is more important than your
result. If you simply answer ``yes'' or ``no'' without
justification the answer is wrong.
- Typically problem-solving, comparisons, perturbations.
