CS 591 HW1: Survey

Due: start of class, January 20. This is probably a 1-3 page assignment if done thoroughly.

Part I: Software Engineering Project

What shall we build this semester? The idea project would be large enough that you can't complete it all by yourself, but must successfully work with your team to finish it.

For this part, you either: vote for Webcam or UML project, or write up one or more ideas you think would be better.

Part II: Software Engineering Tools and Methods

Scan the Internet and identify what tools, languages, and methods you would really like to be learning and using in this course. By default, you will be using Java, NetBeans, Dia, CVS, and Ant. Do you have additional or better tools to recommend?
