This page is devoted to Bree, our 1972 Pontiac Firebird Formula.

Our goal is a minimal gradual restoration. Pictures are down at the bottom.

Things we Need (Approximate Priority Order)

Door droop. Need new hinges installed
Gas gauge. Sender replacement would run $150 if needed. A discussion from some camaro owners' site suggested "Classic Industries" might have a sensing unit @$50 if we need one, and that it might instead be a faulty wire in the trunk. Given trunk/rust problems, that's worth looking into maybe.
Stereo wires: can they be wrapped and taped (or suspended by wire) out of the way?
Stereo. Equalizer and/or amp part of it is not getting power.
Nose repair, or replacement.
Turn signal light lenses, front end trim, etc.
Hood repair. Welcome to the world of fiberglass reconstruction.
Paint job. Back to lucerne blue? Midnight black? But: our budget does not allow for a quality paint job. Also: chrome trim has some blue spray paint to remove.
Interior work. Extensive, need to itemize. Interior color trim style 212 (ivory vinyl) is cooler than black, but less common and more expensive.
Headliner $50+professional installation
Headliner hold down rails $30
Console pad $39
Interior door panels. Need to cleanup to decide what-all to replace. Panels = $105.
Rear quarter plastic. cleanup, repaint and/or replace. $62x2=$124
Dashboard. Dash "cap" $100.
Rearview Mirror $60
Horn does not work
Front seats foam $240, covers $205, + install
Interior carpet. www.1aauto.com sells complete moulded carpet sets for ~$100, or ~$90 on ebay. We need Ivory. The ebay discounts may only be for black carpet. 1aauto also sells trunk mat ($45), floor mats ($85), sound deadener ($50, goes under carpet).
Air conditioner (duh).
Rear seat back needs repair somewhat.
Trunk. rear seat wall.

This says the engine was originally a 350cid 2bbl V8, dual exhaust
Its specifications. If you read the fine print, it says that "All Firebird engines have been designed to operate efficiently on the no-lead or low-lead gasolines".

We do not need a mod for unleaded. According to vettenet, Starting in '71, all GM engine heads had hardened valve seats and could withstand unleaded gas.
