The BULMA Project is a collaboration between ClintonJeffery and Enrico Pontelli of NMSU
and RichardSaunders and DerekJones of
Rincon Research Corporation, Tucson.
It descends from the ULMA project.
Goals
- Do comprehensive literature search on
monitoring/debugging/profiling/visualizing Beowulf.
- Identify opportunities/needs for tools and enabling research

- Study all about Beowulfs
- Study MPI
- for example, read MPI: the Complete Reference, a free online book
by Snir/Otto/.../Dongarra
- Study resources available at the official MPI Website at Argonne
National Laboratory
- including MPICH, MPE, Upshot, Jumpshot, and what else?
- Study research literature in parallel monitoring
- Identify relevant conferences beyond ICPP, IPPS/IPDPS, SC and
Europar conferences. Consult JPDC, Parallel Computing, and
IEEE Transactions on Parallel... journals, look for additional
relevant journals.
