The following two 6-by-6 arrays represent the 72 10-kilometer-square AREAS which cover the entirety of Joshua Tree National Park. Using the OpenGIS Web Map Server, 1-meter-resolution USGS aerial photographic coverage of some of these 72 AREAS has been collected and made available to the user of this website through the following arrays of links. Each array element contains the name of the corresponding AREA in the form of the UTM coordinates of the SW corner of the AREA, with the least-significant four zero digits omitted from each coordinate value. Those AREAS whose aerial fotos are currently accessible for viewing on this website are colored green. Some of the AREAS are labelled with the name of a prominent feature in the AREA.The names of camping/hiking/climbing features are printed in blue , while names of cultural units are printed in red . If the name of a feature in an area is displayed as a Blue Link or as a Red Link then clicking on that link directly causes the downloading of the aerial photograph accompanied by scrolling intended to make the named feature immediately visible within the Explorer window. |
