Each 2-kilometer-square area is represented as a 2-by-2 array of JTNP tiles each of which is an aerial photograph of a 1-kilometer-square area. Each JTNP tile has been composed by coalescing in Adobe Photoshop a 5-by-5 array of USGS tiles each of which is an aerial photograph of a 200-meter-square area. Each array download may take a few minutes. To provide orientation, some of the 2-kilometer-square areas are colored green and labelled with the name of a prominent feature contained in the area. The names of camping/hiking/climbing features are printed in blue , while names of cultural units are printed in red .
