UTM/MGRS GRID ZONES of the WORLD
Joshua Tree National Park is in GRID ZONE 11S; Anthony TX/NM is in GRID ZONES 13R/13S; and Kabul, Afghanistan is in GRID ZONE 42S.
Areas are referenced by quoting the longitudinal zone number, followed by the
latitudinal zone letter. For example, the southern end of South America is 19F.
