North Korea Day FAQ
- Does anybody really do this crap?
Yes. Many people throughout the United States and beyond participate in
North Korea Day.
- Aren't you just throwing money away? What's the point?
The whole point is to show that money is not the most important thing to
you. Express yourself and the fact that it isn't all about money.
- But all I care about is money. Why should I participate in North
Korea Day?
If all you care about is money, you should not participate. Also, you
should do some soul searching. We pity you.
- Isn't a hundred bucks a lot of money?
For many people, $100 is a lot of money. But if you were just asked to
spend one dollar, what would be the point? You do that all the time.
- What kind of a name is North Korea Day anyway? Where did it come
from?
The answers you seek lie within, young one.
- This is all just a big joke, isn't it?
Maybe to you. To the participants, it is a time of creative fun and of
showing the world that, again, it's not all about money.
- Can I donate to charity?
Sure, as long as it is anonymously. We encourage creative charity over
handing a check to some organization though. Hand 5 twenties to a bum on
the street or something.
- Will you post my story from my experiences?
If it is cool enough.
- Can you give me some ideas?
Check out the things that have already been done on the main North Korea
Day page. If those don't inspire you, try to imagine the strangest place
that $100 might be and make it happen. If that doesn't work, go find a
garage sale and buy somebody's old home movie for, you guessed it,
$100.
- How about some general suggestions?
- Make sure you don't do something where your friends can grab the money
as soon as you turn your back.
- Be as creative as possible. This isn't a boring time.
- If you leave money somewhere, or give it away, leave a note that says
Happy North Korea Day. Spread the word.
- Don't be greedy.
I'd love to hear any questions or comments you might have.
