Brad Simonin Learn About me, Bradley K. Simonin

Hello and welcome to my World on the Web.  For over thirteen years, I have been an applications programmer analyst, web/intranet/portal developer, database analyst, software engineer, and a database administrator for the Physical Science Laboratory at New Mexico State University.

I live in Las Cruces, New Mexico; a medium sized college town in the southern part of the state of New Mexico.  My work and life revolve around New Mexico State University where the Physical Science Laboratory is located.

I have been married for over twelve years to my very beautiful and talented wife, Melissa Lewis-Simonin.  She is an accomplished artist and sculptor of southwestern, Native American art, and is the owner and operator of "Lewis-Simonin Creations".   Her artwork can be seen in galleries and art and craft fairs throughout New Mexico.

Melissa and I just adopted our first baby! Emily was born on April 11, 2004 (Easter Sunday!) in Arizona and we immediatly adopted her into our family. I love being a father; it is so cool to come home from work and have my little Angel waiting for me.

I have an identical twin brother, Brian Simonin; As twins we are very similar and have the same likes and dislikes.  We both love working out, listening to Alternative/Progressive Rock, and are both computer programmers.  Currently, he works for Boeing at NASA in Houston, Texas as an Oracle PL/SQL developer.  I on the other hand work with Linux, Java programming, PHP and Perl programming, Rexx programming and lots of DB2, SQL Server, and MySQL database development. Java is my favorite programming language because it is big and complex which means I won't get bored with it. With Java one day you could be a Serlvet expert, the next you are learning EJB's, and then the next day you are doing network TCP/IP development. It is such a great robust programming language. Having a twin is very beneficial to our careers.  We talk all the time and exchange ideas and insights from the Information Technology industry.  It is like one person working at two separate companies at the same time.  I have learned a lot from him and he has learned a lot from me.  Too bad everyone can not have an identical twin.

Some of my favorite activities include:  Hiking in the mountains of New Mexico with our dog, Fox; Working out with weights and aerobic training with my work out partner and wife, Melissa;  and, Listening to Alternative/Progressive rock.

Well, that is all I have to say about my life for now!
