The program for 2004 is starting on July 10th.
Details regarding how students apply for NACS are outlined below.
Who Is Eligible
Any Native American student attending a 2 year
college who is genuinely interested in the program and who is
available to spend three weeks away from home. Also: faculty
from 2 year tribal colleges can apply; faculty camp does some of
the regular summer camp items, plus some more advanced topics.
How Faculty Apply
The faculty application form
is available in PDF
(or Excel) formats.
Please print a hard copy and mail it in. We could probably
also manage a scanned application sent as an attachment, or
an email pointer to an application that was put up on a website.
How Students Apply
There is a handy checklist
available in PDF format you can print and follow.
Students can fill out the following application form,
obtain letters of reference, obtain their school's transcripts
and send this information to the address given below.
In addition to this application, we require the following
documents:
Essay
A one page essay regarding why you would like to attend the
Native American Computer Science summer camp. Also tell us
how attending this program will help you to accomplish your
long term goals.
Personal References
Two (2) letters of reference. We would prefer letters from
someone who knows you well and can comment on your ability
and motivation, such as your teacher, mentor, or coach.
These letters must be placed into sealed
envelopes and included in your application packet.
DO NOT SEND YOUR PACKET WITHOUT THESE LETTERS.
Official Certificate of Indian Blood (CIB)
Photocopy of your Driver's License or State ID Card
(for field trips visiting Laboratories located in Military Bases)
Official Transcript
A sealed, official transcript, sent directly from your college
registrar. The transcript, as well as your completed application,
should be mailed to the following address:
