It will be a general talk on perspectives of bioinformatics today and for the future, including little technical details, i.e., why bioinformatics is exciting now and how it is going to be even more exciting in the future.

Dr. Xuhua Xia is an expert in bioinformatics, molecular evolution, molecular phylogenetics, and microbial genomics. He is cross-appointed to both Biology Department and School of Information Technology and Engineering of University of Ottowa. He is also a member of CAREG (Center for Advanced Research in Environmental Genomics) and OISB (Ottawa Institute of Systems Biology).
