Joseph J. Pfeiffer, Jr., received his B.S. (1979) in Computer Science and Physics, and his M.S. (1982) and Ph.D. (1986) in Computer Science, from the University of Washington. He has been a member of the faculty of the Department of Computer Science since 1984. He has supervised three Ph.D. dissertations and many M.S. projects. His principal research interest is rule-based visual programming languages. Some of Joe's personal interests include outdoor recreation, automobile restoration, acting, and model rockets.
