Research Projects:
Computational Methods and Tools for Promoter Identification.
The goal of proposed project is to develop bioinformatic tools to identify promoter regions and cis-elements within the promoter regions of genes, apply them in the study of a number of important molecular biology studies, especially on non-model organisms, and create databases containing the discovered knowledge.
The computational tools will be developed in close consultation with several laboratories on the NMSU campus that are working with non-model and model organisms - Chile, Alfalfa, Xenopus, Arbuscular Mycorrizal Fungi - and will be tested extensively by these laboratories.
