Undergraduate Bioinformatics Pathways

In order to create a bioinformatics infused curriculum, the department has created several pathways that can lead students through a bioinformatics curriculum. Students are offered undergraduate classes that have been designed to expose students to different aspects of the application of principles of bioinformatics, specialized workshops led by leaders in the field of bioinformatics that highlight the relevance of the field for Computer Scientists, peer mentoring, focus groups, and social events. Additionally, the department offers an undergraduate minor in bioinformatics. Here, students participate in specialized bioinformatics research as an undergraduate senior capstone project.
